Heartstrings is led by an Executive Director and governed by a founding board of directors, committed community leaders shaping this organization from the ground up. We're still assembling that team, and there's room for you.

Our Executive Director brings years of experience launching music and art therapy programs for vulnerable youth, and leads the day-to-day work of Heartstrings.
Heartstrings is board-governed by design. A founding board of directors sets direction, approves policy, and holds the organization accountable, so Heartstrings is never the work of any one person.
Founding board of directors
A founding board of directors does more than govern
It shapes culture, sets direction, and builds credibility during the most critical season of an organization's life. As a founding board member, you would help establish the values, partnerships, and strategic vision that guide Heartstrings for years to come.
What we ask of board members
- A two-year founding term
- Monthly board meetings (about 1.5 hours)
- One committee assignment
- Attend or support two events a year
- A personal or solicited gift each year
- Serve as a community ambassador
Seats we're hoping to fill
We're especially looking for people with experience in:
- Nonprofit or business leadership
- Education or youth development
- Arts, music, or creative industries
- Healthcare or mental health
- Accounting, finance, or law
- Technology or operations
- Fundraising, philanthropy, or community organizing
